Market Sundries

Gardners' Market Sundries is my favorite shop in the Spitalfields area of East London. Paul's family have had this business since 1870. The shop is crammed full of visual delights, seaside style stripy paper bags, old fashioned luggage labels and huge balls of string amongst other things. There is a great little film about the shop here.

Vintage Village

I saw many amazing things at the Southbank Vintage Village market over the weekend. Leonore Holder's stall was one of my favorites, they sell all sorts of wonderful things including old magazines, plastic toys, chinese lanterns and 1940s kirby grips. She also stocks lots of old buttons and vintage trimmings. All her stock is from old deserted warehouses and her stall was truly like stepping into a different era. Such an inspiration.
